Terms

Commission Terms & Surcharges

What affects the price and how the work goes: surcharges, revisions, payment and the files you get.

I confirm the exact price and timeline individually after the brief. How the work and payment go — below.

Rules

Work and payment rules

The essentials are in four cards, the details are in the questions below.

Booking25%usually

Secures your place in the queue and counts toward the order total.

Before the start50%including the booking

Half of the total price is paid before work starts.

Before the final50%

The other half is paid before the finished files are handed over.

Rig support14 days

Technical errors after rig hand-over can be reported within two weeks.

The booking isn’t an extra payment: the booking (usually 25%) is part of the payment before the start — usually 50% together with the booking. The exact amounts are set in your order terms.

Booking and payment

How does booking a place in the queue work?+

To secure a place in the queue, you pay a booking — usually 25% of the full price; the exact amount is set in your order terms.

The booking fee is part of the total price.

Once it’s paid, the chosen time slot is reserved for you and closed to other orders.

If you cancel the order, the booking fee is not refunded.

Before work actually starts, you make the pre-start payment — usually 50% of the price together with the booking; the exact amount is set in your order terms.

How does payment work?+

Work is paid 50% / 50%.

The first 50% is paid before work starts.

If you’ve already paid the booking, before work starts you only pay the difference up to the amount in your order terms (usually up to 50%).

The remaining 50% is paid before the finished work and the files included in the order are handed over.

Final files are handed over after full payment.

For large or unusual projects, a custom payment schedule can be agreed separately.

How does payment work — an example?+

Say the order costs $300.

What does the price depend on?+

The final price is set after we discuss the brief.

The price can depend on:

  • design complexity
  • the number of details
  • the scope of the Live2D rig
  • physics complexity
  • extra expressions
  • toggles
  • VBridger
  • extra outfits
  • hairstyles
  • accessories
  • unusual features
  • commercial use

If during the work you ask to add elements that weren’t in the original brief, they are priced separately.

What happens if I cancel the order?+

If you cancel before work starts, the booking is not refunded.

If work has already started, you pay for the work actually done.

Stages that are already done and paid for are not refunded.

If the project can’t continue because of the artist, payment for the unfinished part is settled individually.

What does paying the booking fee or a payment mean?+

Paying the booking fee or the first part of the payment means you have read these rules and agree to the terms of working together.

Work and revisions

What should I prepare before work starts?+

Before work starts, please send the fullest possible brief, the references needed and your wishes.

It helps to mention up front:

  • the design
  • the result you want
  • the expressions you need
  • extra features
  • rig specifics
  • motion references
  • physics wishes
  • how you plan to use the model or art

Major changes to the concept after work starts may cost extra.

Do I need a finished character design before ordering model art?+

Yes. The price of VTuber model art assumes I’m drawing a character design that’s already settled and agreed on.

Before work starts, the main parts of the look should be clear:

  • appearance
  • hairstyle
  • clothes
  • colour palette
  • accessories
  • other key details

You don’t need a professional ref sheet for this. Clear references work too, as long as they show exactly how the character should look: which hairstyle, which clothes, which colours and accessories.

If there’s only a general idea, a text description or a loose set of references, and the look still has to be invented, that’s a separate service: character concept / design. Its price depends on the complexity and is worked out individually.

Small clarifications and tweaks to an existing design are part of the work. Working out the appearance, clothes, hairstyle, accessories and palette from scratch, or drawing several design options, isn’t included in the standard model art price.

For example:

  • “Hair like in the first picture, clothes like in the second, these colours and these accessories”: the look is clear, so I can go straight to drawing the model.
  • “I want a crystal-themed character, come up with a few options for the hair, clothes and accessories”: that’s concept design, and it’s priced separately.
How do art revisions work?+

Small adjustments within the original brief are included in the price.

Completely changing elements that are already approved, for example:

  • the design
  • the clothes
  • hairstyles
  • the composition
  • the proportions
  • large details

may count as extra work.

Once a stage is approved, going back to rework it substantially may also be priced separately.

How do Live2D rig revisions work?+

During the work you can send technical notes and wishes within the original brief.

After the rig is finished and accepted, you have 14 calendar days to check the technical side of the model.

During this period, errors in how the rig was done are fixed free of charge.

After 14 days, the price of further technical fixes is discussed individually.

What counts as a technical rig error?+

Technical errors include, for example:

  • incorrect deformation
  • visible gaps between parts
  • wrong overlaps
  • a physics error
  • a parameter that doesn’t work right
  • a broken toggle
  • a feature from the original brief that doesn’t work right

These are not technical errors:

  • new expressions
  • new toggles
  • new movements
  • changing an approved range of motion as a matter of taste
  • reworking approved physics
  • adding new features

Such changes are priced separately.

How should I send revisions?+

Please gather your notes on a stage into one list.

That makes it quicker to apply everything and less likely that something gets missed.

Before approving a stage, please check the result carefully.

What happens if I don’t reply for a long time?+

If you’re out of touch for a long time, work may be paused.

The order may be moved further down the queue.

When you’re back, a new date to continue is set based on the current workload.

Deadlines also shift automatically if approving intermediate stages is delayed on your side.

What does the PSD need if I order only the rig?+

For a Live2D rig order you need to provide a properly prepared and separated PSD.

If during the work it turns out the art needs:

  • significant extra drawing
  • re-separating
  • hidden parts to be drawn
  • layer fixes
  • extra preparation for Live2D

that work is priced separately.

What if another rigger edited the model after hand-over?+

If after hand-over you or another specialist change:

  • the source files
  • parameters
  • deformers
  • physics
  • textures
  • expressions
  • the model structure

fixing errors that appear after that is not covered by free technical support.

Such work is priced separately.

Files, rights and communication

What files will I get when the order is done?+

Which files you get, and in what format, depends on the order type and is agreed in advance.

For Live2D, it can be a ready model for VTube Studio or another program agreed in advance.

Handing over working source files must be agreed in advance:

  • .psd
  • .cmo3
  • .can3
  • and other project files

If the source files aren’t included in the order price, handing them over may be priced separately.

How long are files kept after the order is done?+

After the project is finished, please keep your own backups of all the files you received.

The artist doesn’t guarantee keeping the sources and final files of finished projects indefinitely.

Can my work be shown in the portfolio?+

The artist may show the finished work and stages of its creation:

  • on the website
  • on social media
  • in the portfolio
  • in a Live2D showcase
  • in promotional materials

after the model’s public debut.

If the project must stay confidential or can’t be shown before a certain date, please say so before work starts.

Special NDA terms are discussed separately.

Do I need to credit the artist?+

Authorship of the work stays with the artist.

Depending on the order type, the credit is:

  • “Art — LYSS”
  • “Rig — LYSS”
  • “Art and rig — LYSS”

You can’t present the work as made by someone else.

Do I need to mention commercial use in advance?+

Yes.

If the work will be used:

  • for merch
  • for advertising
  • to sell digital content
  • for a commercial brand
  • for goods
  • for paid projects

please say so before work starts.

Commercial use can affect the final price.

What happens with rude communication or broken agreements?+

Working together is built on mutual respect.

The artist may end the collaboration in case of:

  • insults
  • aggressive behaviour
  • threats
  • repeatedly breaking agreements
  • attempts to use unpaid work

In that case, the price is based on the work already done.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What makes up the price of a model?+

Two parts: the art (the character drawn in layers) and the rig (bringing it to life in Live2D). You can order both from me, or just one if the art already exists.

The art is drawn from a finished character design. If it still has to be designed, that’s a separate service: what counts as a finished design.

How does Base differ from Advanced?+

Base — XYZ motion, physics, 3 expressions, a basic mouth rig and breathing. Advanced — more detail, complex physics, richer facial expressions and a more advanced rig.

How long does it take?+

It depends on the complexity and the queue. I confirm exact dates after the brief. Need it fast — there's a rush surcharge of +25%.

Can I order only stream assets or only art?+

Yes. Overlays, emotes, logos, ref sheets and illustrations can be ordered on their own — you don't need a model for that.

How do I order merch?+

Merch is released in pre-order batches. Pick an item in the Merch section, add it to the cart, check out and pay upfront — it's 100% for all merch. Once the batch is printed I send photos and ship the parcel from Moscow (Ozon, CDEK or Russian Post).

How do I pay and order?+

Message me on Telegram or VK — we'll go through the brief, the price and the timeline, and I'll send payment details. Payment is in rubles; dollar prices here are a guide at 100 ₽ to $1.

How do I track my order?+

Once your order is confirmed and booked, you get a personal LyssBoard link. It shows your place in the queue, the current stage of the work, the estimated start and my updates on your order. No sign-up needed: the link is view-only and works on any device. The shared order queue is on the home page.

Want to place an order?

Message me — we'll talk through your idea, pick the format and work out the price. I reply personally.
